Tolerance

tol·er·ance

/täl(ə)rəns/

It’s a noun and a value that means the attitude of someone who is willing to accept someone or something, especially opinions or behavior that you may not agree with, or people who are not like you. Tolerance between people makes it possible for differing beliefs, values, and ideas to coexist as long as they fit within acceptable moral values; it promotes a more cohesive, happy society.

Interesting Fact #1

The essence of tolerance is self-control. When we tolerate an activity, we resist our urge to forcefully prohibit the expression of activities that we find unpleasant. Toleration can be understood as a political practice aiming at neutrality, objectivity, or fairness
